  5. found at the tips of shoots, while axillary
  6. buds develop in the axils of the leaves,
  7. often remaining dormant unless the terminal
  8. bud is removed or damaged. Adventitious buds
  9. may be produced anywhere on the plant, their
  10. formation sometimes stimulated by an injury,
  11. such as that caused by pruning.
